PSYCHICS First, I'd like to write about psychics. Most psychics use astrology and or tarot cards to perform their 'tricks', which talk in broad/vague terms, which can apply to a multitude of people in a variety of circumstances. I've seen shows where alleged psychics displayed their abilities, without the use of periphery, such as astrological charts or tarot cards. They just used their minds. In 90% of the cases, I was not impressed. There was this one show, where there was a competition between alleged psychics to perform on 'tests', and the winner was, I admit, very impressive. I was not impressed by the abilities of the other contestants. So, I believe that there are a select few people out there with a 'gift' or 'talent' (depending on how you look at it). The rest are fakes. I tried doing tarot both on myself and on others. Firstly, I was impressed on how accurately I could 'dowse' my own situation using cards. Then, when I tried it on another person, we both were impressed. I think there might be something to it, as far as the past and the present is concerned, but I do not believe that it is accurate for future readings. I've also delved into the I-Ching, and found it impressive. I believe that when using tarot cards and/or I-Ching coins, it is important that the person having the reading done actually manipulate the cards / coins, thereby imposing their Chi upon the devices to be read. CLAIRVOYANCE The word comes from French, meaning "clear seeing", and yet in most cases one does not see anything. It is generally a feeling. I believe that we all have this ability, to sense (metaphysically)... to pick up vibes, even tens of thousands of miles away. The perfect example is when you get that feeling that someone is looking at you and look up suddenly and sure enough, there is someone looking at you. We tend to be 'in tune' to those with whom we know intimately, and more especially those who are related to us. The classic case is the twin, who somehow knows that his/her counterpart many miles away is hurt or in trouble. Another classic case is of a mother I knew, who somehow knew that her daughter was in trouble and went outside to find her daughter at the bottom of the pool. Because of her clairvoyant experience, she was able to save her daughter's life. REMOTE VIEWING I've never heard of anyone having this ability, except maybe the late Edgar Cayce, but I believe he was a fraud. I could be wrong. I've heard of Buddhist monks that can travel in their 'astral' bodies and remotely view things and places. Until I do it myself, I remain skeptical. I have tried to do it myself, but I couldn't. Perhaps, I wasn't doing it right. Allegedly, there is a secret government organization, called "Black Ops", which does remote viewing for the government. Could be. There is a Hollywood movie about remote viewing, entitled: Suspect Zero. UPDATE: FEBRUARY 2, 2009 I JUST FIGURED OUT HOW TO USE MY THIRD EYE! REMOTE VIEWING IS REAL! ANYONE CAN DO IT. IF I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU. SEE ABOVE DOCUMENTATION. EMPATHIC ABILITY I believe that we all have this ability to a certain extent, and logically it follows that some people may have a more 'developed' empathic ability. Never met a true 'empath', though. Diana, from the Star Trek, Next Generation series was an empath. TELEPATHIC ABILITY We've all seen those shows where some guy comes on stage and claims to be able to read people's minds. I believe that it is all staged. I do not believe that anyone can read anyone else's mind. We can read subtle body language. We can read facial expressions. And we might not even consciously be aware that we are reading the body language or facial expressions, but we do it. It may seem like telepathy, but it's not. There is one thing, that might in some way be considered a kind of telepathy. I have, more times than I can count, simply thought of someone, and then they call; or I receive a letter from them the next day. Amazing! Is that not telepathy? CHANNELING I definitely believe that some self-proclaimed channelers are frauds. I cannot say that all of them are frauds. I saw this one Discovery Channel show about ghost-busting and the channeler in that show was pretty convincing, but then again, she may have been epileptic. PSYCHIC DREAMING Like in that show.... oh what's the name? Yes: Medium. I don't believe in it. I have made a twenty-year study of dreams and dream interpretation, which included an ethnographic study on myself and my dreams. Not a single one dealt with the future. Every single one dealt with the issues that were currently affecting me. Post Script: I do believe that the human mind will sometimes give dreams of a 'projected future' or a 'possible future', but in the end, we all have free agency, to control our own destinies. Some of my dreams have told me what would happen if I continued on my current path. I changed my path. SEERSHIP I've read about some people who allegedly can 'see' into the near future. Edgar Cayce was one. He even claimed to see in the distant past and the distant future. (But, like I mentioned before; I believe him to have been a complete fraud). Some people seem convinced that some other people have an uncanny ability to see the future. I do not understand how anyone can have 'access' via any kind of perception to an event that has not transpired yet. If it is truly possible (without using the stars) to foresee the future, then there may be law of physics that I do not understand (and I'm a physics teacher). There is a branch of physics that I am not familiar with: quantum physics and there are some interesting things being done in that field. Theoretically, (as in science fiction) there is a way to manipulate the time-space continuum. In 'seeing' the future, one's mind would have to be able to manipulate the time continuum and make a 'leap' into the future. Is it in the realm of possibility? It might be. My limited understanding of the universe and its laws, does not limit the possibilities, does it? The jury is out on this one. EXTRA-SENSORY PERCEPTION I believe that extra-sensory perception (ESP) is a misnomer. I believe that we all have a sixth sense. Some people have a more 'in-tune' sixth sense than others. For some, it might have come naturally. For others, it had to be developed. For still others, they might have 'stumbled upon' their innate ability by accident. Whatever the case. I believe that it is an actual sense, done with the brain. Perhaps, I'll call it, the sense of mind. ***********************************
VIEWING OF AURAS (+ How to view auras) I separate this section from the others, because it is not extra-sensory perception. I believe that we all have the power to see auras, under the right circumstances. I can see them, and I am nothing special. I can teach you how to see them, too. First of all, let's agree that science has proven that all matter emits some sort of electromagnetic radiation (some benign other malignant). Living things emit photons of visible light, some living things more than others. Living beings that are healthy and in a mental state of joy or peace have by far the brightest auras, and are therefore the easiest to see. I first discovered my ability by accident, and the funny thing was that I had no idea what I was looking at when I saw it the first time. My father used to spend hours lecturing us kids when we got in trouble. I was staring at my father, listening politely, not having to participate much, since his lectures were mostly monologues. I kind of relaxed my eyes and "took in" the "bigger picture". While my eyes were primarily focused on my father's eyes, I began to become conscious of my peripheral vision. I saw a bright light emanating from all around my father's profile. I was fascinated by my power to do this with my eyes (for I knew not that it was his aura at the time). Suddenly, my father stopped his lecture abruptly, and commanded: "Stop looking at me like that." I have never seen my face when I look at auras, so I don't know what such a "look" looks like, but I've had others express their displeasure regarding my stare when I look at their auras. It was actually many years later, when I would have the second aura-viewing experience. It was in a Buddhist Temple, while practicing Zen, that I saw the brightest aura I have ever seen, before or since. It came from a monk, who was studying Zen there. Since then, I regularly see auras. HOW TO SEE/VIEW AURAS: Step 1: Stare (preferably at a person or living being). Stare for a long time. Try relaxing your eyes, your focus. Try moving your focus near and far. Sometimes, this is all that is needed, you may eventually see the aura, without any more tutelage from me. Step 2: After experimenting with step one and having no results, I would suggest you practice with a candle. Place a lit candle in a dark room. Stare at the flame. You will see some beams of light emanating from the flame. That is not the aura, but they are the same light, only in concentrated beams. Focus on the flame, but use your peripheral vision to look AROUND the flame. You will then see a bright aura. The KEY is using the peripheral vision (at first). I have found that once I have perceived the aura with my peripheral vision, I can then look directly at it. Step 3: Try it on a person. Probably best to get a partner who is willing to look at your aura, while you look at his/hers. This way nobody gets "freaked out" and says, "Stop looking at me like that!" COLORS OF AURAS: At first, don't be surprised if you don't see any colors. I didn't and don't see colors much, but I have seen blue and green. The color of the aura signifies the state of mind. For example, when one is trying to communicate, the aura will be blue, even if one is on the "receiving end" of communication. The following website purports that cells phones affect the aura. WRONG! When one is in the act of communication, the aura will be blue. What are cell phones used for? The same website purports that illness affects the aura. That would not be entirely accurate. The aura will be green when the body is in a state of repair or healing. The illness doesn't cause the aura to change color, the body does... as a response to illness... when it heals itself. In a NUTSHELL: Blue: Communication This is what is said about the personality associated with magenta auras: Magentas are rare and not commonly found on the planet these days. Magentas are the nonconformists in the aura spectrum. They are usually seen as bizarre loners. They see life from a different and unusual perspective. They don't choose to abide by society's mores, expectations or standards. They follow the beat of their own drummers. Magentas love to shock people, to shake them from their ordinary, humdrum existence. For example, Magentas will walk down the street donning wild clothes and purple Mohawk hair cuts. Other people don't usually have the nerve or the desire to live the lifestyle of the Magentas . Because of their outrageous behavior, Magentas prefer to live in large, crowded cities where they don't stand out as much and aren't pressured to conform. These free spirits aren't usually concerned about what others think, but in large cities they are more apt to have the freedom to express themselves.
